Cvareh returns home to his sky world of Nova with the genius crafter Arianna as his temperamental guest. The mercurial inventor possesses all the Xin family needs to turn the tides of a centuries-old power struggle, but the secrets she harbors must be earned with trust -- hard to come by for Ari, especially when it comes to Dragons. On Nova, Ari finds herself closer to exacting vengeance against the traitor who killed everything -- and everyone – she once loved. But before Ari can complete her campaign of revenge, the Crimson Court exposes her shadowed past and reveals something even more dangerous sparking between her and Cvareh.

While Nova is embroiled in blood sport and political games, the rebels on Loom prepare for an all-out assault on their Dragon oppressors. Florence unexpectedly finds herself at the forefront of change, as her unique blend of skills -- and quick-shooting accuracy -- makes her a force to be reckoned with. For the future of her world, she vows vengeance against the Dragons.

Before the rebellion can rise, though, the Guilds must fall.
This review was difficult to put into words because holy shit THIS BOOK.

The follow up to The Alchemist of Loom is one full more danger, scheming, blood shed and love. The story picks up where Loom finished with Arianna and Cvareh off to Nova, and Florence staying down on Loom. With this, the book was much quicker to get into than Loom

What we get to experience while reading is more of the visual imagery with being on Nova that grabbed me to read Elise's Air Awakens series. I tried to savor every page with the dialogue, descriptions and plot that doesn't make you want to stop reading.

While there are 5 different points of view going on, it doesn't hinder the story and some chapters can help clarify what is happening or going to happen throughout the book.

This book definitely gives more history about Arianna and how she became the White Wraith but her personality also shines out in this one. During the first book, you don't see much of the true Arianna, where in this book its her true self that makes her persevere.

The romance aspect of the story added as a bit of a distraction, both for the character and me as a reader. This part also added to the physical relationship between Cva and Ari. With having a headstrong character such as Arianna, you know that she won't accept love to happen without a fight, and Cva knows it. What I want to thank Elise for is how she made Arianna bisexual. This isn't something that you see in every fantasy novel, and for that thank you for making something I identify with so normal.

I want to talk about Florence. When her points of view came up in the beginning, I wasn't sure what to think. When you finish Loom, you see that Ari and Florence aren't talking and I was worried that Florence was going to get stuck and be unsure of where to go after Ari leaves her on Loom. But what we see is much more than that, she excels and learns and moves towards a cause that is going to change the course of Loom and Nova.

A lot more happens in this story than Loom, which is what also makes it a quicker read. I can't wait for everyone to read this fantastic book. I'm also not ready for it to end when the last book comes out in December
